Site Homepage redirection does not work for JIRA Service Desk users

Summary

If a specific space is configured for the Site Banner/Site Homepage, JIRA Service Desk users with viewing access (rather than full licenses) cannot use the site banner to return to the designated space and instead receive a Not Permitted error. The URL for the banner points to the base URL and is looking for a redirect.

Environment

• JIRA Service Desk with Users with Viewing access to Confluence only

Steps to Reproduce

1. Configure Confluence and JIRA Service Desk together
2. Create a KB space for JSD
3. Change the Confluence site homepage (which will change the banner link as well) to the KB space
4. Sign in as a JSD user
5. Go to the KB space via JIRA, which should be successful
6. Click the banner at the top to return to the home page of the KB space

Expected Results

The JIRA Service Desk user is able to click on the Confluence banner at the top and go to the designated Space

Actual Results

The link only goes to the base URL for Confluence as it is expecting information on what the user may have configured as the home page, but the user is not a fully licensed user and receives a "Not Permitted" error

Workaround

There is no workaround at this time
