            For the sake of documenting this information in JAC, I've confirmed with Chris and tested that the {recently-updated} macro can accept a max or maxResults parameter, whose value will modify the number of results listed by this macro (i.e. the number of recently changed pages).

            By default (i.e. when these parameters are not used), the maximum number of results displayed is 15.

            Please also note that I tested this parameter in Confluence 2.10.

            selection of content types is already available, see CONF-11930.

            I just came in to comment that the number of items shown should be configurable (eg. count param) but noticed that Jason beat me to it Anyway, consider this another vote for that feature.

            First priority should be to allow the number of items in the list ot be configure or define a min/max parameter for layout design. This is the most visible flaw in the macro and makes it difficult to integrate into a page with columns and content below.

            Ideally, recently updated could be configured at the user, group, space and/or admin level, with override ability and/or with the ability to turn off control of this feature at the various levels.

            At the very least, it would be useful if a user could apply a filter (as a configurable option) to the list of recently updated pages based upon content or type, and this filter would also affect what changes would be sent to the user when the user configures monitoring of one or more spaces.

            CONF-5137 asks for more options on contentbylabel macro and I propose the list of ideas in CONF-4559 be implemented.

            I think you've hit the nail on the head there - why are the external feeds more flexible than the internal ones? Perhaps a new macro is required with an integral feed builder - an editor clicks a button to configure it to what they want, then when viewed on pages it outputs the required information.

            I agree. It's frustrating now that the RSS feeds are so configurable for viewing outside of Confluence, but we can't do the same kinds of things in Confluence itself, so I have no way to say, "Only show me new comments that have been added" or "Only show me new attachments".

            So although I can build an RSS feed to do what I want (more or less), I can't even just refer to the external RSS feed from within Confluence because, although I can embed it using the

            {rss}

            macro, I don't have very fine-grained control with that. I can either have it list the titles only or everything (up to a specified number).

            This is all coming along, but there's definitely room for improvement. (-:
