            That confluence link is broken and any latex plugin I can search for is not free or built in functionality.

            We now have a Confluence LaTex plugin, contributed by a commuinty member. Initial reports have been very positive. As such, I'm closing this request as 'fixed'.

            Note that Tex/LaTeX and mathML are very different animals. MathML is not intended to be written or edited directly by humans. Even with the addition of mathML support, I think Tex/LaTeX support is still desired.

            Interesting to hear another good report about MimeTex CGI. But Anthony said above that the formulae can't be exported. Perhaps Atlassian could fix the export and then we would have a complete solution?

            I also work for a financial services firm (www.riskmetrics.com) which has implemented the MimeTex CGI solution on our Confluence instance. It was a snap to implement, works great and the applause from our Research department was deafening. I would recommend you go this route unless Atlassian releases an alternative implementation.
