      Problem Definition

With the introduction of collaborative editing, multiple editors are now attributed to a page. When browsing into any page's page history, the UI shows only avatars in the "changed by" column.

      1. This can make it difficult to determine the names of who made contributions to each version of the page.
      2. If there are a large number of edits on the page, you cannot use the browser search to find a specific user now that there are not text usernames to search for

      Suggested Solutions

      • Add usernames besides the avatar.
      • Make tooltips appear quickly in order to see who made what changes.

[CONFSERVER-45078] Make it easier to observe usernames on Page history

It's been 18 months since @Jenny Millman said that it's in beta.  Has it reached the cloud version?  Do we need to do something to enable it?

Would be nice to have that simple but useful improvement.

I'll go ahead and suggest a multi-line, vertical list of profile-pic:username pairs for each edit instead of the current, single-line, horizontal list of profile-pics for each edit. Seems like it'd be pretty simple to do with a nested table.
Individual edits may now take up more vertical space if there are multiple editors, but that's what scrollbars are for.

If that's too hard, then let administrators change users' profile pictures so we can at least force them to be distinct.

Adam: Thank you for jumping in on this issue. It is a really big problem and annoyance for our largest user group. Even if there was a way to toggle it on/off would be a massive improvement. Thank you

We are in the process of upgrading to v6.2 and I am dismayed to learn that page history no longer displays user names. My team reviews page histories many times a day to learn more about who is using and maintaining pages. Hovering over avatars is totally inefficient UX.
