      Summary

The list of undefined pages of a space, which is accessible via Space tools > Content Tools > Undefined Pages does not include items that are in the trash. This is OK, but the feature description says only this:

An 'undefined' page is any page that has been linked to from within Confluence, but that does not yet exist.

Related documentation does not clarify this detail either:

      Environment

      • Confluence 5.8.15

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create pages A and B
      2. In page B, create a link to page A
      3. delete page A (it will go to trash)
      4. Go to Space tools > Content Tools > Undefined Pages

      Actual results

The "Undefined Pages" page contains the following description:

An 'undefined' page is any page that has been linked to from within Confluence, but that does not yet exist.

      Expected Results

The user should also be informed in the feature description that:

Pages that are not current (i.e. in the trash) are not returned.

      Notes

It would be useful to have this information in the documentation as well:

      Workaround

Go to Space tools > Content Tools > Trash and purge all undesired pages to make sure that the undefined pages report lists these pages correctly.
Make sure that you have a backup of your data before permanently deleting pages.
