Description
NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.
We're no longer permission-checking links on pages to other Confluence pages. We previously did this to determine if the reader had permission to see the linked page, and would link to the page ID rather than its name in cases where the reader didn't have permission to see the linked page. Given that a determined user could use the REST API to determine the name of the linked page anyway, and that the permission check comes at a performance cost, we've decided the cost of this check is too great when balanced with any perceived benefit.
This change currently only affects Confluence Cloud.
If you have comments or concerns about this, please let us know by commenting.
Thanks,
The Confluence Team
