Description
NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.
Summary
MP4 videos do not render in the Multimedia macro. This appears only when adding new macros after the recent upgrade in Cloud to version 1000.112.0 (1000.112.0 was not an option in the Version field, so I entered the highest available version). Any previously added macros still work.
Environment
- In Chrome, you will just see a white space where the video should play:
- In Internet Explorer 11, you will see No Source:
- In Firefox, you will see “Video can’t be played because the file is corrupt”:
- This works in Microsoft Edge 25
Steps to Reproduce
- Create a page in Confluence
- Attach an MP4 video to the page
- Insert a Multimedia macro anywhere on the page
- Select the MP4 video in the macro pop-up
- Save the macro
- Save the page and load it.
Expected Results
The video is rendered in the Multimedia Macro.
Actual Results
The video will not load. Depending upon the browser, you will see different results (See attachments above).
Nothing in the logs nor in the development console.
Workaround
Currently there is no workaround, aside from opening the page in Microsoft Edge.
