It is very likely that after sharing a page with someone, that page name will be changed. The hyperlink in the "share email" will then be out of date and when the user clicks to go view the page, the Page Not Found error they see isn't a very good user experience.

Seems reasonable to embed the tiny link in the email's hyperlink instead and completely remove this potential bad experience.

      Issue Description

As the link generated in the email is a static page URL, if there is changes in the page title after the email notification is sent, the page won't be accessible by the link directly anymore.

      Expected Result

User get redirect to the correct page

      Actual Result

User received a "Page Not Found" message as the title of the page is no longer the same.

      Suggested Resolution

Using a tiny URL or pageid will be a better approach.

[CONFSERVER-41353] URL sent when sharing a page should use tiny link or PageID

After all this years, this saddens me this is not getting more attention.

The Share is an underestimated feature and seeing it not using the PageID neither the Tiny link doesn't do justice to it.

This would be a nice addition to avoid getting broken links over the time

Confluence's "Tiny Link" feature is a unique selling point compared to tools like SharePoint where such a feature is not existing or just not working in key use cases (e.g. DocumentIds not working for hours after a file rename). In my opinion, every communication and storage of Confluence links outside of Confluence should work with "tiny links" as this is the only way to keep such links working even if a page is renamed or moved to another space. I see this feature as a low hanging fruit and a great way to differentiate from other tools which did not manage to implement a working "permanent link feature". Also, it reduces the chance that skeptics (e.g. users who haven't worked with Wiki tools before) have something to moan about.
