Hi Atlassian
We keep on seeing use cases where people has structures like this, anywhere in the page hierarchy
ProjectX Documentation Motivation Requirements Deliverables Meetings August 1st July 1st KickOff
And while this makes a lot of sense to them, it totally makes the pages absolutely "un-findable" by the search. A search like "ProjectX Meetings" would basically give nothing, and a search by "Meetings" just hundreds of results from as many spaces. ProjectX could also be the title of the space, but in this case the same effect will happen, only that at least users will see the title in the search results, even if the right one comes in the third page.
Of course we are telling people to write longer titles that include redundant information, but how far can one go? To find "ProjectX Requirements" one would like to include three hierarchical levels in the title! I find it a bit too much to ask to users
What I would like is for Confluence to include the page hierarchy as a field in the index, with a higher priority than the body content but perhaps less than the page title. It could a single field that itemises the ancentors up to the Space Title or just one field each for parent, grandparent and space title, in this case perhaps weighted differently.
But believe me, our users are not particularly happy and these cases are extremely common.
Thanks a lot for considering this.
Daniel
