      Summary

      Edit in Office feature returns permission error when trying to upload documents in IE 11

      Environment

      • Confluence 6.0.0-OD-2016.02.1-0006
      • Internet Explorer 11

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a page and insert and Ms Office file as attachment using the Office
      2. Save
      3. Go to ... at the top left > Attachments
      4. Choose Edit in Office beside the attachment you want edit.
        Your browser will ask you to confirm that you want to open the file.
      5. Choose OK.
        You may also see a security warning or be asked to log in to your Confluence server - enter your Confluence username and password, then choose OK.
      6. The file will open in your Office application.
      7. Make your changes.
      8. Save the document.

      Expected Results

      Attachment file is saved back to Confluence

      Actual Results

      This error is returned:

      Upload Failed: Permission Issue

We saved your changes, but we couldn't verify that you have the necessary permissions to upload the file. Check your permissions with the document owner or click Resolve for more options.
      • Clicking Resolve pops up a window to enter authentication, however doesn't resolve the issue.

      Notes

      Workaround

      • Download the file, edit and upload new version to the Confluence page manually.
