    Description

      NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Summary:
      User can add a code block macro within an inline comment. Once the comment is saved, the content of the code macro is not shown. (Silently missing). When editing the inline comment again, the code macro is still shown. (so it is not lost, but not rendered when viewing the inline comment)

      Environment:
      Confluence 5.7 and above (we are on 5.8.10)

      Steps to reproduce:
      On any confluence page, highlight some text to add an inline comment.
      In the inline comment editor, type

      {code macro}

      and add some code.
      Save the comment.

      Result:
      The inline comment shows what-ever else was written into the comment, but not the content of the code block

      Expected result:
      Correct rendering of the code
