Description
NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.
With Office 2007 when "Allow authentication tokens in the URL path" is disabled Office will ask you for your credentials when opening a document from WebDAV.
In Office 2010 this no longer happens. Instead Office will try to authenticate with WebDAV using cookies that it shares with Internet Explorer. This means Edit in Office will work if you have logged into Confluence using IE and you have ticked 'Remember Me'. Otherwise Office 2010 will not be able to authenticate with WebDAV.
The workaround would be to enable 'Allow authentication tokens in the URL path'. However there are currently issues with this: OFFCONN-23
