Hi,
We have added UI support for bulk moving for Confluence pages.
That will enable users to reorganize pages within the space without the tedious process of moving 1 page by 1 page.
I thought this is relevant to this issue, so I am sharing the news here.
Benefits
The benefits of keeping the pages organized:
- Productivity gain from time hunting for information
- Search results can be more precise by localising the Search in Child Pages/Descendents
- Address the 1024 clauses limit in Page Properties Macro and Content by Label Macro (
CONFSERVER-59315)
- Facilitate archival and preparation for Cloud migration
Use Cases
These are use cases that led us to build this feature
- To reorganise meeting minutes by year
- To dividing pages from 1 space into multiple spaces (e.g split into multiple product team, department reorganization)
- To reorganise a flat space that evolved into a messy space
Easy and simple
It is easy to move pages
- Go to the Parent page
- Access the Bulk Move Pages option from the Page Menu
- Use a filter to select the pages to move
- Uncheck those matching pages which should be excluded
- Select the Destination Parent page
- Click the Move button

The Canned Search for Confluence app is available on Atlassian Marketplace and supports both Server and Data Center edition.
We welcome any feedback to improve via our Service Desk powered by JSM.
+1
Back in the days before these fancy Confluence releases with UI changes, there was a feature of Page Hierarchy or something, in the page properties. It was possible to multi-select pages and drag them where you want in the page tree. Can't get it why now with the new releases functionality degrades over time.
