      Problem Definition

There are many users of MediaWiki that look to migrate to Confluence. Currently there is no official migration tool or method to take their existing information and bring it into Confluence

      Suggested Solution

Create a tool to import MediaWiki content into Confluence.

[CONFSERVER-38563] Migration tool from MediaWiki to Confluence

I'm surprised that this issue and its Cloud version haven't already been closed as "Won't implement", considering that Atlassian had a tool to accomplish migrations from Mediawiki and many others – the Universal Wiki Converter – and abandoned it.  I'm not sure of the reasons, but as one who has done a few such migrations, I think I can guess at one of them:  it's not as easy as it looks.

The converter is now an open project, with a publicly accessible repository on Bitbucket.
