Confluence setup wizard includes incorrect instructions when configuring a datasource with MySQL

XMLWordPrintable

      Summary

After selecting datasource as the type of connection used while setting up a MySQLexternal database in Confluence, it will show instructions only needed for a JDBC connection.

      Environment

      • Datasource connection for MySQL

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Configure Confluence with a datasource connection to MySQL
      2. Start Confluence for the first time
      3. Select MySQL and Datasource as the database type

      Expected Results

The user will be presented with instructions on configuring a datasource connection to MySQL

      Actual Results

The user will be presented with a warning box that they need to include arguments at the end of a url.

      Notes

I assume the same page is used for either JDBC or datasource and the unnecessary parts are hidden, and if that is the case the warning box to append these MySQL JDBC specific connection string arguments is not hidden

      Solution

Ignore the warning box until it is removed
