We created Confluence pages and added LaTex scripts to the page. The page display the proper symbols, but have experienced the following problems:

1. All LaTex references, i.e. symbols, are removed when the page is exported to PDF or MS Word. The remaining text (non-LaTex) exports just fine.

This happens with both inline and block LaTex macro.

2. Printing the Confluence page intermittently removes all LaTex symbols — very few times it includes the symbols, but most times it also removes the LaTex symbols.
