New Preview Feature in Confluence allows any user to overwrite attachments, etc.

      A user is allowed to upload an attachment that replaces the original attachment with an unrelated file when the user clicks on the "down arrow" at the top of the Preview page without editing the page to capture the user updating the page. The Page History does not show that the other user uploaded the attachment.

      In preview, a user can replace one file with a completely different file under the same name and there is no history of it. We and other projects are using Confluence to store and track system requirements and other project documentation where it is important to track any changes to those documents. When you add or remove documents outside of preview, that activity is captured in the Page History.
