    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

The temp directory (by default located in Confluence Installation Directory) is configured in the Java runtime and some Confluence components write temporary files or lockfiles into this directory. (reference)

Basically, this directory is required during runtime and it gets larger over time.

By having the configuration implemented, it would be great if Confluence can automatically clear the content of this directory every time the instance is shut down. This feature would make system maintenance job easier.

            Isn't this a dup of CONFSERVER-41622?

I have this problem too - temp directory is currently 17GB.  Can it be deleted after a clean shutdown?

This will be a great improvement. Please, implement this as soon as possible.
