    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

By default, Livesearch Macro only allows options to search from either one space or all spaces. It's good to allow users to search from multiple spaces.

Specify a space key to limit the search to the given space. Case-sensitive.

Reference: Parameter specification as described in Livesearch Macro documentation.

      Atlassian Update - January 2019

      Hi all,

Thanks for your interest in this issue. We don't plan to work on this for the foreseeable future, however, we are currently working on revamping the search experience in Confluence. Keep an eye out on our release notes to learn about the new search experience coming soon.

We'll review this suggestion again in 12 months time and will provide an update if the status changes.

      Thanks,
      Confluence Server Product Management

[CONFSERVER-37239] Livesearch Macro Should Allow Search in Multiple Spaces

Our global company have now rolled out to Confluence Cloud across all companies as a solution for information knowledge sharing. Due to this increase in utilisation by more people and in even more team spaces, this issue is as important to us as ever.

            Hi,

We definitely need this feature !

            kind regards

We definitely need this feature for on-prem and cloud-hosted Confluence versions. I believe that this is just a minor change to the already existing macro (I might be wrong).

Atlassian, can you please elaborate on why this is taking so long? Seven years have passed since the issue was raised. I would expect such a small feature request to be implemented within some months.

            Thank you!

            Hi

Confluence 7.x allows to restrict searches to spaces with a given category which is great.
It's a pity to discover that Livesearch doesn't provide the same.

Restricting to one SpaceKey and to pages with a specific label is not enough. We would like to have the same as what was requested in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-26179

As this ticket has been closed, we would like to add our interest to current ticket and request to extend its scope to what was proposed in 26179.

            • @self as spacekey
            • Multiple spacekeys
            • Restrict to Category
            • Restrict to type (page, comment, attachment) * Restrict to authors
            • Restrict to labels

Sorry, my workaround only is applicable in standard Confluence search not in livesearch.

Hi Peter Brodt, thank you for your suggestion. I did not find a way to filter the results based on a category in the Livesearch macro such that the search expands to multiple spaces restricted to the spaces with the specified category. Can you elaborate on your suggestion for a workaround?

A workaround for this issue. Add to your projects a specific category which you would like to include into your search, for example "KnowledgeNetwork". You then can limit your search on this filter + any additional search criteria.

I have abandoned all things Atlassian now because they can't be bothered to listen to users after 6 years. Finally logged in just so I can unwatch this issue (there's no options in the email to unsubscribe) Goodluck fellow users, and hopefully you can find a solution yourself

by pre-selecting which spaces users can search, we can get them the tech content they need, without including irrelevant content from other non-tech spaces.  i can do this via the api, but...thats a lotta lift for something like this.
