I frequently save (ahem, update) while in the middle of editing a document so I don't lose changes (esp. since we have multiple people working on the same pages, and I have no way of knowing if someone else has started editing the page.) Thus I need to:
- update
- look at the change (maybe)
- edit
I would like to click one button which would save the document and bring me right back to where I am. I see several different ways this could be implemented - listed in order of my preference:
- background update, so I can just keep typing (maybe popup a dialog box that says "saved"). Saves the most time (esp. if you use Atl+some key), but you don't see what you've done.
- update + preview, so it does the save, I can look at the page if I want, and I can go down back to editing. Handy to see what you've done, but a pain b/c you still have to scroll a lot.
- update + edit, does the save and puts you right back in the edit page. You can't see the change, and you still have to scroll down and find your spot again.
Any of these options are for "checkpoint" updates , so they probably should automatically be considered minor revisions.
