Importing a Word document with "Track Changes" enabled and unaccepted edits will cause old content to be imported along with new content

Details

    Description

      Steps to Reproduce
      1. Create a Word Document with a few headings and some content
      2. Enable Track Changes
      3. Make some changes to the document, but then do not accept them
      4. Import the word document into Confluence
      Expected Results

Most users would expect the document to be imported as it appears under "Final, without Markup".

      Actual Results

The document imports as if "Final with Markup" were displayed - changes since the last final verison of the document are imported as well.

      Notes

In one case that was observed, Confluence failed to import a word document when "Split by heading" was selected, and one of the headings had a length longer than 255 characters. While the 255 character limit on the database is fine in most titles, if there are two instances of the heading (caused by not accepting changes), it can easily go longer than the permissible title length, causing the import to fail.

      Workaround

Accept all changes in the Word Document before importing into Confluence
