On December 18th 2014 PostgreSQL 9.4 was released.

We should include it in our plans to support it.

            [CONFSERVER-36097] Support PostgreSQL 9.4

Good News ... We are already running on 9.4 with no issues (5.9.5 and 5.9.1) and moving towards 9.5.

We are pleased to announce that Confluence 5.10 now supports PostgreSQL 9.4 & 9.5. Thank you for your all your input into this suggestion.

Running 5.8.5 with the refinedwiki skin I don't see a warning at all anymore (I think I may have dismissed it).

            Thanks Stephen,
if you run 9.4: is there a warning banner referring to "incompatible database" which is visible to users?
            Best regards,
            Sven

Atlassian seems totally unwilling to fix this. Pretty terrible support from them. For what it's worth we have been running Confluence under 9.4 for many months now with no issues.

What are the plans with this issue? Currently it is a blocker to upgrade/install current Confluence versions on Debian: According to https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=postgresql Debian Wheezy comes with postgresql 9.1 whereas Debian Jessie comes with 9.4.

Unfortunately, current Confluence version supports only postgresql 9.2 and 9.3. In fact, this blocks the upgrade of existing installations of Confluence 5.6.1 on Debian.
