Manually created links behave unexpectedly when linking to an issue in a linked JIRA instance

I'd like to manually create a link using wiki syntax. Something to the effect of [important words|https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-14186] (but pointing to my linked jira instance). After I paste the url it automatically changes to use the Insert JIRA Issue/Filter macro. Finishing the incantation for a link results in a link that point to the current page rather than the url for the jira issue.

      Said differently:

      • Open a page in confluence for editing
      • Type [link text|
      • Paste url to a JIRA issue on instance linked with Confluence instance
        • See change to "Insert JIRA Issue/Filter macro" happen automatically
      • type ]
        • See link created automatically
      • Click link
      • Click edit
      • See it links to current page rather than where I wanted

Hi taylor12 - thanks for your comment. The new editor updates were released in 6.14 earlier this year, so until you upgrade, you may not see the resolution of this bug. If you do upgrade to 6.14+ and still experience this issue, please let me know and comment on this ticket.

mappleton@atlassian.com, this bug still exists in 6.6.13. I haven't been affected by it since originally filing the ticket so the impact of fixing is minimal, but confirming it hasn't been resolved.

            Absolutely.

Hello taylor12, thanks for raising this. Given that the mix use of wiki link syntax and JIRA Issues is quite rare, this won't be our priority for now. In this special case, could you use insert link feature instead ?
