NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

      I was trying to add some new pages and the multi- media plugin just spins. It won't load. I tried using it with both Chrome and Safari. Same results. It is just blank and never loads the dialog..

      I also tried to copy and existing entry to the new page. It again just spins when I try to assign the movie content. Even when I went to a new instance I was showing the same issue.

      Workaround 1

      Drag and drop the video file directly into the editor. Confluence will automatically attach the file and insert the multimedia macro.

      Workaround 2

      If you need to edit the macro parameters you can use wikimarkup.

      1. In the editor Go to Insert > Markup and enter the wikimarkup based on the examples below.
      2. The multimedia macro placeholder will appear in the preview when the wikimarkup has been entered correctly.
      3. Click Insert to insert it into your page.

      To embed a multimedia file attached to the current page enter:

      {multimedia:name=filename.mov}

      To embed a multimedia file attached to a page in another space and make it autoplay enter:

      {multimedia:space=SPACEKEY|page=Page Title|name=filename.mov|autostart=true}

      Note: You still wont be able to edit the macro parameters in the macro browser, and if you need to make a change, you will need to insert the wikimarkup again. More info on the parameters can be found on this page

            +1 from me. Video is becoming increasingly important for technical documentation and this is clearly broken.

            +1 for an urgent fix.

            Voting up to make this bug fix a priority. It used to work for us and stopped this week. It has made our video training come to a grinding halt. Is Atlassian no longer supporting simple video uploads?

            Operating on Confluence 5.6-OD-34-013 and this defect prevents us from being able to access any of the configuration values as stated: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Multimedia+Macro

            The only way to add multimedia content is to drag and drop the video file, but we are then forced to deal with oversized content on the page which makes it unusable.

            Same problem here with the multimedia macro.

            In my case I can drag my .swf files to the page while editing but I can't edit the swf element to set width, height and autoplay flag making them to work not properly.

            btw: I don't know if it's relevant info, but I can't edit swf elements on old pages.

            Thanks in advance for trying to solve this bug asap, contact me if you need to make some tests as I use the multimedia macro almost daily and it's affecting our workflow.

            Please consider fixing this. It is crippling to our site as videos are key to our efforts. We will need to consider other alternatives if the media plug-in for videos is no longer supported.

            Thanks for considering.
