Fonts used for PDF export don't support some Asian (and probably other) languages

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

It would be nice to support other character sets. You can correctly display text in the browser which will not render in an exported PDF.

[CONFSERVER-3512] Fonts used for PDF export don't support some Asian (and probably other) languages

We have the same issue with the Chinese characters. I tried several fonts to use in the pdf export language support but nothing works. Would be great if Atlassian provides a font family that fit's also for the Chinese characters.

I just tried. Some of the chinese characters still cannot be displayed correctly in the pdf export.

Sim, use MS Mincho (msmincho.ttc) and it will work.

It seemed like unicode font like verdana cannot support generation of chinese characters in Confluence.

To do this, you need to install a Unicode font in Confluence. Instructions are available here:

I think the priority of this bug should be higher.
