Problem with Polish diacritic chars in Confluence page export to PDF

Despite having UTF-8 set in the Confluence global configuration Polish diacritic letters are skipped from document while exporting to PDF file.

Export to Word document works fine.

Thanks for the feedback. We have a number of higher priority bugs to address first, and this issue has a workaround for affected customers, so it is treated as a lower priority.

We're tracking this improvement request as CONF-30779.

Have you considered using this simple solution in confluence?
I have to explain at least to several my customers why your product does not support printing in other languages than English, and it sounds a little bit unprofessional while solution in in the two minute action.

            Hi Matt

Thanks for getting back in touch. That's a great suggestion, we're going to take a look at this and see if we can't integrate this into Confluence.

I changed the default font to Open Sans and it's working.
How about using it by default?

            Hi Matt

Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue. I suspect that this issue is closely related to CONF-23955. The fix for this is to upload a new font for the purposes of exporting PDF documents. Unfortunately due to the many and varied restrictions with fonts this is not something that we are currently able to handle from within Confluence. You may find the following documentation useful:
