Type:

Resolution: Fixed
-
Priority:
Low
-
Affects Version/s: 5.2.3
-
Component/s: None
-
Environment:
-Confluence standalone
-Mac (Firefox) and (Chrome): Customer Windows 7 (Firefox) and (Chrome)
-JDK 1.7.0_60
-Using Confluence Version 5.2.3: Customer Version 5.2
Summary
When embedding a Microsoft Word (docx) document for the first time, it will render correctly. After editing the document in any way, and re-embedding the document, the font for random sections (may or may not be the entire all of the text) will appear blue and underlines when moused-over. Also, if the document is edited before it is embedded, it renders correctly. Only after the document has been embedded, removed, edited and re-embedded will this issue occur.
Steps to reproduce
- Create a word document with text
- go to a confluence page and edit the page
- drag the word document onto the page and ‘Save'
- Edit the page again and remove the document and ‘Save'
- Edit the word document (i have merely added a line at the top of the document and then deleted it) and then save
- Edit the page and drag the word document onto the page and ‘Save’
- The document will now render with a blue font and will underline in certain sections when moused-over
Expected Behavior
The document should render exactly as the word document looks no matter what changes have been made.
Actual Behavior
The document displays blue font for seeming random portions of the text and underlines text when moused-over
I have not found any other JAC articles relating. I have not found a workaround, the text is still there, it is just the formatting that appears to be affected. I have noted the environment info in the appropriate space on this bug report, but I will include here just in case.
