      Atlassian Update - 24th July 2019

We've discovered that this issue has been duplicated by the issue at CONFSERVER-28739 - copy and pasting web images will not attach the image to the page. While this is a confirmed bug in Confluence, please watch that issue for further updates, and more detailed workarounds.

When users to attempt to copy external content from websites into Confluence, all the images are referenced instead of adding into Confluence.

If the external website is broken, the image will not be displayed since it is referenced.

The current workaround for customer is to save external image to own machine, then manually add 1 by 1 into Confluence. Imagine if users have more than 10 images to copy on one article; it will take a lot of time just to insert image into Confluence.
