We have been dealing with buggy user mentions. The search index fails to recognize new users and instead it creates duplicate entries with an "Unknown User" prefix. We remove the index per Atlassian recommendations and rebuild the index via Linux as well as through the GUI. No luck.

Indexing via the GUI seems completely useless.

Please advise ASAP.
