Confluence needs a clear, simplified mail configuration console like other products

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Other products have this in their console. Why is it that Confluence requires a convoluted JNDI configuration in a server file?

For those of us wanting to use TLS with GMAIL - it is difficult.

It is something you guys can do better with minimal work - just borrowing code from Jira should be an option in this case.

Upgrading this feature to be the same is Jira is part of the technical debt in bringing Confluence up to par.

New installations and upgrades run into this issue - but once configured - we are done.
