User can't link Confluence pages to JIRA issues and gets a "You do not have permission to view this page" for Confluence pages in Issue Links

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

Users are unable to link Confluence pages to JIRA issues:

      1. Open a JIRA issue.
      2. Click 'More' > 'Link'.
      3. Select 'Confluence Page' in the left menu.
      4. Click 'search for a page' under the Page URL field.
      5. Make sure that the 'Server' field is displaying the correct Confluence application.
      6. All search results for ANY Confluence page come up empty.

In addition to that, when accessing JIRA issues that are linked with Confluence pages, users should be able to see the name of the page under the Issue Links section:

A few days ago this behaviour seems to have changed and now users are intermittently getting an "You do not have permission to view this page" message instead of the name of the page:

Clicking on the link still takes the user to the page, as expected.

Currently there are no workarounds to this situation.

[CONFSERVER-33783] User can't link Confluence pages to JIRA issues and gets a "You do not have permission to view this page" for Confluence pages in Issue Links

Found fix for us here after being pointed to indirectly while writing support ticket.:

            https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/You+do+not+have+permission+to+view+this+page+when+linking+a+Confluence+page+in+a+JIRA+issue

Basically, I had to configure Oath in the Application Link (In "Outgoing Authentication" while on Jira side) rather than Trusted Applications--I also found that we needed to use 2-legged authentication.

Same issue here with Confluence 5.5.2 and Jira 6.1.5. Links state you do not have permission but you can click on them and go to the referenced confluence page. When searching with in Jira for a confluence issue you get nothing.

same problem here with JIRA v6.2.5, Confluence v5.5.2 and Fisheye v3.4.4 (fisheye commit links also affected).

We just tried to add a new user to our jira and confluence projects. she was added to the developers and jira-users groups. She can see Confluence pages but can not access any jira content. links show similar "you don't have permission" warnings. So this is preventing us from adding new people to the project.

Can we have some feedback from Atlassian on when this is going to be fixed?

Just adding - we're also getting the same problem.

In addition, it's broken the notifications function between JIRA sharing/mentions and the Confluence workbox as well.

Having the same problem as Eric. They say you do not have permission but the links actually do work.

            Also in an OnDemand instance

Our links are working but we are getting the "You do not have permission to view this page" message on our links from JIRA stories to Confluence pages. We are using On Demand.
