Double dollar sign '$' when inserting existing variable in a template

      Step to Reproduce

      1. Create a new template by going to:
        • Confluence Admin >> Global Templates >> Add new Global Tempate
        • From any space > Space tools > Content Tools > Templates > Create New Template
      2. Add a variable $test in the template by
        • Typing $test
        • Go to "Insert template items into this page" > New Variable > type $test
      3. Add the existing variable again in the template by going to "Insert template items into this page" > choose $test

      Expected Result

      Both of the variable should only have one dollar sign at the start of variable

      Observed Result

      The second variable which are reused have 2 dollar sign at the start of the variable.

      Workaround

      Type "$" to trigger Variable Suggestions and choose the variable from there instead from the macro menu
