Problem with Including Excerpt Macros

I have created a summary page for status reporting for the project from various teams and i am using excerpts from their pages. Basicially,

• setup excerpt in individual pages
• setup excerpt include in summary status page

I am having problems with some of the pages not returning the excerpts even though i followed the same process. I get a page not found error. The permissions are all correct and i checked them. Those individual pages with the excerpt macros exist. I have set this up for about 23 pages, 14 of them work correctly and the other 9 do not. Looks like i am hitting a tool bug somewhere. Please help.
