    Description

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

The ability to embed wiki content from a page into other pages and have either the "original source" or the embedded section editable but kept in sync.

Use: For example, if there is a common piece of information shared across multiple pages currently the easiest way to manage this is to create a link in each page pointing to a separate dedicated page.

However this can often spoil the instant nature and convenience of the original page especially if the information is just a paragraph or screenshot or small set of instructions and having leaping to a new page disconnects or confuses the user.

This wiki disconnect becomes particularly problematic when exporting a page as a pdf/doc (e.g work instructions) where basic wiki links to content on other pages become invalid or even just when rendering the page contents where a page heading is just a link to another page.

This would work well by being able to embed a page section into another page for example a section defined using the page layout section option (numeric value or header value) or a section just defined by the header value.
