Confluence support for Internet Explorer 11.

            [CONFSERVER-31202] Support Internet Explorer 11 (ie11)

We've now completed our IE11 support work. The final bug fixes will be released in the next OnDemand upgrade, and the next Confluence bug fix release for download.

amel.belacel, we've put a number of fixes into the 5.4.x releases and OnDemand already, but we'll have "finished" and announce support in the next few weeks.

casolins@indiana.edu you'll need to upgrade again unfortunately.

            Hi,
I upgraded to 5.3.4 over the weekend (because this version was tested by our 150 space admins and we don't upgrade till testing is completed.

Will there be a patch available for IE11 support or will I have to upgrade again?

            Thank you,
            -craig

            Hello,

            Any news on this?

            Thanks

For those watching this ticket, we're aiming to have support for IE11 in both Confluence OnDemand and Download before the end of January.

afeher1 thanks for the info on Visual Studio.

To answer your question about why we haven't added support sooner. While I agree the ideal would be to have support before the final release is out, the reality (and I'm drawing on our experience with IE10 as well here) is the rendering engine changes up until the final build is out. If we fixed all the 'bugs' in Confluence with the previews, we'd possibly be just creating bugs for people in the final version that we'd need to circle back and undo.

Coupled with the fact we see very very low usage in our analytics until the final release is out for a little while on Windows 7, it's not useful for us to look at support until the final build is ready.

To update everyone who is watching the ticket, we're working on the identified issues as we speak. We're tracking these publicly here on JAC if you want to monitor the status of any of them specifically. If you've seen something else that's not there then please feel free to raise a new bug.

This is getting urgent. Visual Studio 2013 requires IE11 to be fully functional. And most of Confluence does not work with IE11. Also, IE11 has been out, available for serious developers for a long time. It does not paint a pretty picture that Atlassian starts to look into what needs to be done way after the time IE11 has been out to end customers. Just my 2 cents.

Hi Guy, we're assessing what actually needs to be done for support at the moment. I don't have a date for you yet sorry, but it's certainly something we're actively pursuing.
