Table of contents macro preview doesn't really work until you save or preview a page.

NOTE: This bug report is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding bug report.

Seems to be an regression of CONF-10619.

      1. Create a page,
      2. Put some headings in
      3. Put a table of contents macro in
      4. Open the macro browser and preview

      • You see nothing

The only way to refresh the macro preview and make it work is to "preview" the page OR to save the page and come back and edit it again.

This makes you feel like the macro is broken quite often and don't use it.

[CONFSERVER-31079] Table of contents macro preview doesn't really work until you save or preview a page.

+1. This is happening for us with our OnDemand instance.

Should be fairly easy to find where the regression happened in the code.

Confirmed that this bug occurs before the page draft gets saved.

So to replicate, you need to quickly enter some heading before the first draft post action gets generated.

            Hi dchui

Could we get someone to verify this issue and see if it is a regression of something we've added or changed recently.

            Regards
