            Given the thousands of other issues we have open that are more highly requested, we won't be able to address this issue in the foreseeable future. Instead we will focus on bugs with a higher impact, and more votes.

            Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue. As you are no doubt aware this issue has been on our backlog for some time now with very little movement.

            I'm going to close this to set expectations so the issue doesn't stay open for years with few updates. If demand for this picks up, we will reopen the issue.

            I can confirm that this occurs on any page that has complex HTML in an HTML macro.

            We are currently on Confluence 4.3.7 so this seems to occur accross several versions. We are using Fixed Width theme, Documentation theme, and the default theme as well.
            I am able to reproduce the issue using Geert Graat's steps above.

            We use RefinedWiki Original Theme for Confluence 5.x for all the spaces.

            Hi,

            I have the same issue here, running a Confluence 5.1.5 with no custom themes or anything. The problem can easily be reproduced, by creating a page with a HTML macro (Confluence built-in) and adding the following:

            <form action="http://www.example.com">
            </form>

            When I edit this page and then leave it (save or cancel does not matter), the page redirects to a blank page with data:, in the address bar. This also happens when you save the page for the first time btw.

            Hi There

            Do you have any custom themes running in Confluence?

            Regards

            Hi Steve,

            It happens intermittently. user can't reproduce it 100% of the time. when user edit a page, save the page, and the page goes blank. The address bar shows as data;

            If user click back, it goes back to the 'edit page' screen, it does remember the changes. Once it happens for a page, it seems to keep happening, if you refresh the page when it shows data; in the address bar, nothing happens. You have to click back to get back to it again. Once it happens for a page, it seems to keep happening.

            Each of the pages user is working on typically have both the custom html resource and a PowerPoint macro, with two columns on the page, with a custom html on one side, and the PowerPoint macro on the other so essentially all pages are pretty much the same from a resource point of view. Custom html just contains code to embed a player from brightcove - same code generated each time, just pointing to a different source video.
