Bring back option to show full text in notification emails

    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

In Confluence 3.5 there was an option in the user menus to have all the information of a page sent when receiving an notification email (for example, when the page is edited). This option was removed and replaced by the DIFF function that we see now in Confluence 4/5. We would like to see this option returned.

We also have a productivity use case for including the full content within email notification where a single page update summarizes/rolls up all child page edits. Watching for and receiving email notifications for many individual child page edits are not realistic in our use case. Please re-open this issue.

Thats a poor answer. You're not understanding the issue. Imagine that you have only a basic device that can only get email and not web, not to mention that the device may not be on our internal network so getting the full page is not possible. Not to mention this is a productivity issue for the user in not having to click the email to get the full page.

Jeff - Confluence now ships with mobile - so this should be possible

Sending the full text of a created/updated page is a critical function for us. We rely on these updates to send out notices to various devices for mobile devices who may not be able to get the full text by clicking the link.

This option should be returned as a preference setting.

Option as it existed in Confluence 3.5
