JIRA 4.4.4
Confluence 4.1
Description
Steps to reproduce
- Create a user 'admin' with the group 'jira-administrators' only
- Create 'confluence-administrators' and 'confluence-users' group in JIRA
- Set Confluence to use JIRA as 'Remote JIRA directory' and use it as the primary directory
- Set the user 'admin' in Confluence so that it have all the administrative permission (Confluence Administrator, System Administrator and Space Admin) with the group 'jira-administrator' only (The other default administrative permission for Confluence groups are not removed)
- Setup the Application Links between JIRA and Confluence with Trusted Applications for both Incoming and Outgoing Authentications
- Try to set the Project Application Links at JIRA Administration >> Project >> <Project_name> >> Settings >> Configure Application Links to Confluence Space (No permission error):"Sorry, there are no links for this user available, check your permission configuration of the remote application."
- Trying to set the Space Application Link from Confluence at Confluence Space Admin >> Application Links to JIRA is working
- Give the default administrative group 'confluence-administrators' to the user 'admin' in Confluence
- Try to set Project Application Links from JIRA server again works
Why would it still need the Confluence group to administrate Confluence even though Confluence already give the permission to JIRA groups?
