The Content Tree is greedy for resources - loading a large space (2000 or more pages) can take ten or more seconds each consecutive time (revisit caching?).
This is symptomatic of a larger issue - that of scaling Confluence for larger volumes of data. People are generating bigger trees and we need to begin anticipating this ourselves and ensure Confluence runs well with them.
