Back button destroys data in template editor

XMLWordPrintable

    • Type: Bug
    • Resolution: Obsolete
    • Priority: Low
    • None
    • Affects Version/s: 4.3.3, 4.3.5
    • Component/s: None

This can be reproduced 100% of the time. I've only done it with the template I lost today by pressing my browser back button. Create a template, add some data, click preview, hit browser back button - everything lost. No auto-save draft, nothing. Are templates not auto-saved? I'd been working on this particular one for an hour at least. We are using hosted Confluence.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Create a new template
      2. Hit Preview without saving first
      3. Press back in the browser
        • Expected - you would be taken back to the template you were creating
        • Actual - you are taken back to the 'Templates' section of Space Admin

      Workarounds

      • Use the 'Edit button in Confluence to return to editting, rather than the browser's button.
      • If you have hit Back and have been taken back to Templates, hit Forward in the browser. This will return you to the template you were editting. Contents will be there but the page title will need to be re-entered.
