      We used RefinedWiki.
On one of the dashboards we have created, we have the following code:

"Welcome to the Finance & Admin Dashboard!"

This code produces a duplicate of the text.

"Welcome to the Finance & Admin Dashboard!"">"Welcome to the Finance & Admin Dashboard!"

I have attached a sample of how this comes out.

Under Confluence v3.5.x this works fine - I am wondering what the new syntax needs to be and also if I can have a coloured / bolded / italic heading in the dashboard still?

I have replicated this issue by placing the offending code into a template and then previewing the template in the template tool. When a page is created from the template, the issue is resolved.

OK thanks Denise, I appreciate the extra effort on your behalf.
I may just take the cowards way out for now - that makes it easier for others to update in the future if they need to.
            Cheers, Mick

            Hi Mick,

            Sorry about the multiple responses
Actually I've just had a play and what you want can be done on the dashboard by manually editing the main.vmd file and inserting what you want in straight HTML. If it's possible to enter HTML through the RefinedWiki interface, you could do that too. I did it with a simple span tag and some parameters. It'll just be a case of trial and error till you get it where and how you want it.

            Kind regards,
            Denise

            Hi Denise,
Yes that does help ... sort of
RefinedWiki uses the template for the dashboards which is where I am seeing the problem - so I won't have a solution until I have upgraded to 4.3, assuming RefinedWiki is working with the new template editor.
That said, I doubt we will be upgrading to 4.3 for some time given the significant number of plugins which aren't compatible with 4.3.

Thanks for the extra information though, at least I know there is a solution in 4.3. In the mean time, I can just dumb down my pages.

            Hi Michael,

Thanks for that extra info. I had a look and actually they're (you're) correct - it does happen on our default themes as well, so this isn't to do with RefinedWiki. The macro is actually one of ours though, not Adaptavist's, not sure where that came from.

The long and short of this is that the problem will go away in Confluence 4.3. The reason is that the template editor in Confluence 4.0 - 4.2 still used wiki markup, and there seems to be a hiccough in displaying that macro in the template. In Confluence 4.3 the template editor now uses the new Confluence Editor, and no longer uses wiki markup, so this macro etc is no longer used. Because this issue no longer occurs in the latest version, the fix will be to upgrade your instance to 4.3.

The good news though is that in the meantime, any page created from that template does display correctly, so there's nothing to worry about with your actual content. I'd recommend looking into upgrading though at some stage if it's bothering you.

Sorry for the original bum steer! Hope this helps.

EDIT: I've just seen that this issue is happening on the dashboard, give me a minute while I figure this out

            Kind regards,
            Denise

            OK thanks Denise.
I have to say I do get confused with how best to report problems to Atlassian with all the different options there are. Options are good ... but obviously it can get messy.
            Anyway ....

I actually started with RefinedWiki when reporting this issue.

We are using $helper.renderConfluenceMacro() to render the macros of the dashboard. And that's the same method Atlassian is using to render their macros on the dashboard.

The same issue occurs when using the default theme, see the attached screenshot. I'm quite sure the bug is in the macro.

            Thoughts?

            Hi Michael,

Firstly, sorry for the delay in responding here, unfortunately we don't actively monitor this site from customers' requests. Our support site is http://support.atlassian.com, this (jira.atlassian.com) is actually our bug tracker, used to track verified problems that require coding fixes in the software. You can raise tickets directly in the support system - that goes straight to our Support team and will get you a much quicker response.

On to your issue, this is actually a problem with Refined Wiki, which is provided by an external company (called RefinedWiki). They support the product, so you'll need to contact them. Their support can be contacted at :
            support@refinedwiki.com
            http://www.refinedwiki.com/en/display/support.aspx

Give them a shout, I'm sure they'll be able to help you. In the meantime it never hurts to check that you're on the latest version that's compatible with your Confluence version. That's RefinedWiki 3.2.7. You can check your version and upgrade in Confluence Admin > Plugins.

Hope this helps! I'm going to close this one off since it's not an Atlassian thing. If we can help with anything though please raise an issue in our support system and we'll be happy to help.

            Kind regards,
            Denise

One month since issue creation and still no response or confirmation that this is a bug.
            I'm disappointed.

I know this is minor, but I thought I would of had some sort of response now.
I have seen this on a number of occasions and I am wondering if this is the color macro or maybe the heading macro. It seems one or both of these macros cause the problem.
