NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

Trying to install Confluence using the installer on a Linux box will failed when using an inappropriate installer version (32/64bit).

The following stack trace will thrown by Linux during the installation process

      Unpacking JRE ...
      Starting Installer ...
      ./atlassian-confluence-4.2.13-x32.bin: 466: /home/tmp/atlassian-confluence-4.2.13-x32.bin.31150.dir/jre/bin/java: not found

It would be a lot better if Confluence could provide a better error message or warning to clarify the cause of the installation issue.
