Steps to reproduce
1. Insert two body macros (e.g. expand)
2. Attempt to insert a horizontal rule via the toolbar

The rule will not appear. If the user continues to type, the cursor will jump to the top of the page.
This behaviour has been reproduced in Safari.

The rule will not be inserted in IE9 or Firefox. However, the cursor jumping will not occur in these browsers.
Also note that the cursor jumping does not occur in the ERT theme.

This issue does not occur in IE8 (I am as surprised as you).

[CONFSERVER-26393] Unable to insert horizontal rule between two body macros

Hello Team,

May i know an update on this issue.
This is present in our instance as well Confluence Server 6.7.1

Along with the above problem, we also recently found a new problem that the horizontal line is not visible in edit mode and is visible in view mode(after publishing the page)

Please resolve this issue as it is annoying our users and may also loose the confidence on the application due to such strange behaviours.

It also occurs when attempting to insert one after a table, especially at the bottom of the page.

Of course this issue was reported in 2012, and it has been 6 YEARS and nothing is fixed? Nor has any add-on attempted to resolve this issue?

Another possible workaround:

1. Edit in source editor
2. Add

before or after the

Reproduced in Confluence 5.6.4 @ IE 10, FF 34, Chrome 39. I'm unable to place a horizontal rule just after a marco or a table.

Possible workaround
1. place en empty line just after a macro/table
2. create a horizontal rule
3. remove the empty line before the horizontal rule
