    Description

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

In May 2012, the European Union introduced a new law that dictates that websites must seek explicit permission before installing a cookie on a user’s computer, as described here: http://www.computerweekly.com/opinion/The-cookies-monster-How-to-deal-with-the-new-cookies-law

We have already amended our privacy statement in accordance with this new directive, thus making us compliant according to our legal advisers, but most websites are now displaying prominent banners warning of their cookie usage, (see attached screenshots for a few different examples), and Europeans are becoming used to seeing these warnings on websites so we should investigate possibilities to add visual warnings on Confluence sites, (for EU customers).
