Internal page and attachment links did not work in the Word document exported from Confluence

      Steps to reproduce:
      1. Create a page
      2. Insert a link pointing to another page
      3. Upload an attachment
      4. Insert a link pointing to an attachment
      5. Save the page
      6. Export it to Word
      7. Open the Word document. Sample: CONF-26052.doc
      8. Ctrl+Click the links however you'll not be redirected to the linked page and attachment.
      9. The linking in the exported Word document is translated as:
        • Internal page linking - D:\display\ds\Welcome+to+the+Confluence+Demonstration+Space
        • Internal attachment linking - D:\Users\Hanis\Downloads\attach_0ba7561890f2e2b087628e00a8af1509
      10. Expected links:

Only external links work in the exported Word document. This problem however does not exist in Confluence 3.5.x.

In the New XHTML Editor, somehow internal linking of pages/attachments are broken.

Still running into this issue in v. 6.13. Please consider re-opening this bug as it is still an issue for end users. Thanks!

Still a problem in 6.6 and is extremely frustrating. it would be great if it could be fixed. Converting to word is a common workflow item that is fully supported by Confluence. These links should work after being exported to a Word doc.

The problem is still existing in 6.3.4. Please reopen the bug and fix it ! We have many users which would need that feature !

The problem already exists in Confluence 5.10.

Can someone reopen this bug report?

            Hi all,

We've reproduced the exact same issue with Confluence 5.7.3 and believe it should be addressed.

            Cheers,
            Timo.

            Hi Steve,

So there is no solution to this? Is this being put off as a bug or a feature not needed in Confluence any more? I, personally, have no problem with this as i can easily copy the url and paste it in the browser. However, this issue was brought to our attention by some of our clients and they told us it would be nice to open the attachment just by clicking on the link.

            Hi there,
you could use Scroll Office Plugin https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.k15t.scroll.scroll-office as "a workaraound". Works perfectly with internal links and links to attachments. You can even export to Corporate Designed .dot or .dotx Word documents. We evaluated the Plugin and use it now.
            Cheers,
            Paula

            Hi There

Thanks for raising this issue, as this has been on our backlog now for quite some time without any real progress being made I'm going to close this issue as won't fix, I believe this better reflects the status of this issue.

If the problem is raised again in the future we'll readdress it.

            Regards
