Hide attachments, comments and children bars from some users

      Hello,

I have been trying to configure Confluence to look like a normal web site when users are not logged in. I have managed to create a theme that hides the page operations and home, spaces, administration links and places a navigation bar on the left side of the page.

But, there are still the attachments, children and comment bars visible to anonymous users. I would like to be able to:

      1. Hide comments from some user groups. So a separate view permission for comments would be needed.

      2. Hide all but the page text from the anonymous users. Currently these parts (comment, attachment, children bars) are not accessible to themes. Could you make them available for layout changes?

Yes, the Attachments tab doesn't appear if you can't add or delete attachments.

Has the issue of being able to hide the attachments tab been resolved?

A customer has requested the ability to just hide comments from certain users at a space level, and ideally, at a page level. Given commenting relates to open discussions about the page content I believe hiding comments would be higher priority that adding permissions to other areas. Breaking this out may help track this specifically via votes.

Not having been a 1.x user I can't say for certain, but I imagine this would translate in 2.1 to hiding the Info tab as well.
Making more items theme accessible might be a bigger request than hiding the Attachements tab from users who cannot create/delete them and hiding the Info tab from users who only have view permission.

Of course then I'd want to drop the tool bar if only view remains for the user.

            Hi Lauri,
We would like to reach this level of customizability in Confluence but, unfortunately for now, it is not available out of the box.

This issue relates to another issue, CONF-2579 . It might be something to add ideas to.

            Cheers,
            Nick
