      From editor feedback page:

How amazing would it be to simply click-and-hold on a row, move the mouse to another part of the table, and the row moves automagically? This would be an amazing trade-up for the wiki markup - I have to cut, hit up or down arrows a bunch, and paste from a keyboard, but I would just have to move my mouse if using this.

As far as document management goes, confluence is "almost" good enough while falling flat on it's face short when you try to manage semi-formal or formal documentation with it. Feature like this (as space specific option, NOT as global or nothing option) would be a good start.

Relying on 3rd party tools to provide any kind of approval status/workflow is painful, even more so when they prove not to be working for you as intended. It would be a fair compromise to provide sufficient metadata and tooling in vanilla confluence configuration and let the 3rd party tools enhance and improve on this. Now its just do and die with the 3rd party tools, losing all data if you need to change an addon that did all this for you.

Google Docs just released fullpage documents like we've had in Confluence. They made this feature default in their first table feature.

So the use case is pretty clear. People want to sort rows in a table by dragging and dropping rows up and down the table

This is a table stakes (hah) function for a table feature in any product. I don't believe this suggestion needs more unique votes to be considered, as this is such a basic feature.

Its little things like this that makes the big difference. We all use/need/abuse tables. I understand making the "homer simpson car" of Tables is really bad, but the simple editing sugar, like being able to use keyboard shortcuts + arrow keys to move rows up/down, columns left/right, is gonna make a real difference. Ctrl-Alt already up/down already adds a row - its just a continuation of this sugar.

Thought I just could't find it, as there's no way it wouldn't be available, but nope - it's actually not available. As a PM, I constantly need to reorganize rows and columns, it's very frustrating that Atlassian can't create such a basic feature.

I don't understand how this feature is missing -very basic function of a table. And TWO YEARS LATER still PENDING. I like the merge feature but the ROW MOVE missing, what's going on? Confluence won't replace my Notion, very easy to use...

Is there anyone working on adding this feature? The order of Jira table rows are not in logical flow, so I am looking to re-order the various rows, is there any solution for this?

For Example, if I create a table of Bugs in different stages which are 'Unresolved', it's giving a table in this order:

Open, Pending, Backlog, In Development, Ready to Test and User Acceptance Test...

Whereas I would like to order them like this: Backlog, Open, In Development, Pending, Ready to Test and User Acceptance Test...

Can anyone suggest me, how can I do it in Confluence?

How about adding a table sorter as well? Order by priority, numeric, or alphabetic order on one or more columns. The Google Sheets workaround already supports this.

I love the drag/drop features in Jira for Structures and Backlogs.  It would be great to allow table rows to be reordered in a similar way.

+1 This would be really useful, e.g. for ranking a table listing various tasks, or to move related items near to each other. Row Cut+Paste makes this less painful than it used to be, but still a lot more painful than drag-drop would be

It's crazy that you guys woudl release a new version of pages (meeting template) that's supposed to focus on the big improvements to the most used features and neglect what has been a long-standing pain point. Google docs spreadsheets introduced drag n drop for table rows/columns in 2010. Why is Atlassian asleep at the wheel on this!?

I just got done the cruel and unusual task of resorting a Confluence table and thought to myself, "Sheeez, I wish we could drag and drop these rows and columns. It would have shortened my 30 minute task to 30 seconds." Vote +1.

I am frequently dismayed to see a simple request that was submitted 7 years ago still not implemented in Confluence. For what it is worth, my vote.

Note, we need to be able to re-sort tables while in edit mode.  Moving rows up/down would be a small step towards help.

You can try to use addon named [Inline Table Editing|https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1217271/inline-table-editing]

This addon allows to edit tables without editmode and also drag&drop rows and columns.

We use lots of Confluence embedded tables and the ability to easily reorder table contents without having to manually cut/paste would be a big time saver. Currently we routinely cut data out of Confluence to Excel, reorder it there, and then paste back into Confluence. Not very efficient. This is also acting as a hindrance to adoption of Confluence for users that use lots of table data. Help us all out by adding this simply feature!

This would be a great addition to functionality for Confluence. If the idea is for Confluence to be a place for teams to quickly and easily edit requirements, scheduling and other documentation, drag and drop functionality is becoming an expected standard for competitors.

I would argue that having UI buttons to move a table rows up/down, like those for adding and removing table rows/columns, would be even less error prone and probably easier to get implemented.

Anyhow, would love to have this feature, too.

+1 it would also be really great if you could do this between two different tables of the same format. We have a few different tables of something like done, in progress, archived, etc. All have the same column headers (constantly cutting and pasting, the table cut/paste feature seems to often not work, and manually cutting and pasting sometimes has it's own problems). Drag and drop without even opening the page for edit would be simply awesome for the user!

The feature of moving table rows is implemented in new Confluence in another way and is quite convenient.
Use ctrl+shift+X and ctrl+shit+V to cut and paste rows. By that you don't need to select the whole row: just put cursor in some cell of it.
