I'd really appreciate it if there were some way to turn off the little bubbles with helpful messages, e.g. "Hint: double-click to select code". I already know the hint, and the bubble is distracting and often in the way. This is a little thing, but it is just incredibly irritating.

Otherwise, I've had a very positive experience with my company's wiki on confluence.

[CONFSERVER-25743] The hovering hints are REALLY *REALLY* irritating

I can see how you'd find it frustrating, but the work behind the scenes to remember that you've dismissed it etc isn't worth while for this one thing.

I'll close this ticket but in the future if we build a more robust feature discovery system it would probably handle this sort of use case so it might change at some point.

(I just realized – that empty box in my last two comments come from me typing {code})

Yes, clicking the mouse makes the popup go away. But if I move the mouse within the box, the popup returns. If I do a Page Down and the mouse lands in a

            box, it's there again.

The problem with things like this is that they are initially helpful, but once you've learned the message, it's a constant irritation. I just want these things gone forever.

Some UIs have a checkbox for "don't show this message again". That would be ideal here.

            Thanks for that.

In our internal 4.3 test build if I click once, the message is dismissed and out of your way, but I don't have a 3.5 instance handy right not to see if that's the same there, I'm assuming though that the message persists based on what you're saying?

Also is your mouse just ending up there as you scroll, or to you use the cursor to follow as you read, or something else?

Screen shot showing the mouse in a

block, with the irritating help comment, obscuring content. My preference would be to suppress these help comments completely. A second choice would be to have them not obscure content.

The bottom of a wiki page says: Powered by Atlassian Confluence 3.5.3, the Enterprise Wiki.

I will attach a screenshot in a moment.

Hi Jack, can you tell me which version of Confluence you're using? Also if you could send an example screenshot would be great. Thanks!
