    • We collect Confluence feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

NOTE: This suggestion is for Confluence Server. Using Confluence Cloud? See the corresponding suggestion.

      Use case:
User management with two different directories, one housing the "company users" one housing the "external employee" users.

In cases, where the status for the employment changes (i.e. user now works for company or former emlpoyee now works as freelancer) it would be nice to tell Confluence, that a given user is moved between directories.
Thus, Confluence keeps the internal stored permissions, but gets the user information and credentials from the new directory.

[CONFSERVER-25630] Make it possible to move users between directories
